My so called “rush” vocal lessons with Jojo Acosta was impressive. The guitarist and singer I hired to interpret my songs (for a demo CD) fo a local song writing competition quit, barely a week before the deadline for submission of entries. So I need to take the place of the singer and get the services of Jojo for a “rush” vocal training”. I know I could sing but not confident enough about my voice. I told Jojo that I couldnt go for high notes because I am an ALTO. But he taught me a lot of techniques on how to gain my confidence in singing. My voice was husky when we started the recording. Too much stress and change of weather affected my vocal chords that day. But because of Jojo’s know how in singing techniques, I was able to deliver the song very well. The speech level singing, introvert and extrovert singing, singing using the low larynx and many others helped me a lot. Thanks to Jojo Acosta that I was able to record my songs using my own voice and finally beat the deadline in the song writing competition.
