Zda Sumbillo Earns SM Universe Award

Zda Sumbillo has been building her record in vocal competitions since childhood under the guidance of Manila-based international voice coach Jojo Acosta. Among her early achievements was winning the 2018 Song Festival Music Competition at Miriam College at age seven. She went on to earn international recognition in subsequent years, including medals in online music competitions in 2021 and further distinctions in international vocal contests in 2024.

Her latest recognition came at the SM Universe K-Pop Rising Star Search held on September 25, 2026, at the Music Museum in San Juan City, Metro Manila, where she received a SGD 500 bursary.

The award adds another milestone to Sumbillo’s ongoing musical development. Through her training with Coach Jojo Acosta, she continues to build on her vocal foundation while exploring opportunities in the K-pop performance scene. SM Universe, established by SM Entertainment, is a K-pop training academy based in Singapore.
