From The Voice Teens to Original Music: JP Romero Releases ‘Maria, (Tell Me Why)’

JP Romero first gained national attention as a contestant on The Voice Teens Philippines, where he showcased his vocal ability and musicality as part of Team Lea. His journey on the show introduced him to a wider audience and marked the beginning of his path as a developing artist from Cagayan de Oro.

Since then, JP has continued to grow as a singer-songwriter, refining both his sound and identity. On February 28, 2026, he released his single “Maria (Tell Me Why)” across streaming platforms, further establishing his presence in the OPM scene.

The release forms part of Coach Jojo Acosta’s Singer Studio Super Brave Singer-Songwriter Package, under which JP has been developing his craft. Acosta has served as his mentor since his stint on The Voice Teens Philippines, providing guidance in vocal performance, songwriting, and artistic direction.
